New in Favorite Reads : The Ghostwriter
This book caught my attention because it’s set in 1975 (the year I was born.) Julie Clark writes exceptional thrillers, and while I enjoyed this one, it wasn’t quite as good as the other two I’ve read. The story moves slowly between two timelines, with unreliable narration from the father, who has Lewy body syndrome.
I also found the daughter and the web of lies she concocted a little strange. Still, there were enough secrets and twists to keep me reading. Overall, it was a decent beach read, well constructed, just not my favorite Julie Clark thriller.

2 NEW Chapters of Dort Knows Best are releasing this week in The Book Club!
This week I wrote a scene that made me laugh until I cried. The neighborhood busybody gets a sweet comeuppance that still makes me chuckle thinking about it. Dort Knows Best is set in a retirement community like the Villages, (but with magic) and I am having so much fun returning to my comedy roots. This series will lean harder on the humor, but still have those heartwarming moments my readers have come to expect.
